Jedrzejczyk initially resisted a transfer to the 125-pound division, preferring to have another chance to find the current straw-weight champion, Rose Namajunas, who left him a pair of defeats. Shevchenko, meanwhile, is just happy to fight for a belt. She was to face inaugural champion Nicco Montano at UFC 228, but Montano was forced to withdraw from the competition at the last minute due to a missed weight reduction. The UFC subsequently stripped Montano of the belt and sought a replacement for the vacant belt.
This change is bad news for Eubanks, who was ruled out of the fight for the inaugural flyweight title in the TUF 26 Final when she had complications due to a weight reduction.
