Vanderbilt has Florida on UPSET ALERT after a crazy first half

Vanderbilt has Florida on a real UPSET ALERT on Saturday in Nashville. The Gators were led 21-13 at half-time against an opponent from the SEC-East who they usually used as a doormat.

The Gators fought back to take a 27-21 lead just after the start of the fourth quarter.

Florida came on Saturday with a four-game win over Vandy, but that does not have much to do with the history of the dominant UF in the series. The Gators have won 26 of their last 27 games against the Commodores since the start of the series in 1989.

The first half of this game included enough strangeness to fly over the SEC in 2018 and perhaps even in 2019.

The summary, in chronological order:

• Joejuan Williams of Vanderbilt intercepted a pass from Feleipe Franks on the 2-meter Vanderbilt line, where Vandy's DB was clearly down. That did not stop him from running 98 yards for an apparent hit, before the video overturned TD's call in the field:

Williams's commitment in this area was still commendable.

• This completely absurd fumble sequence is produced:

The end result is Florida's loss of possession after a breakaway from the Franks and a miniature football match between the two teams, a momentary decision by the referees that the Dores did not find the ball lost in goals and a lot of confusion .
