A primary school in Washington revealed an outbreak of chickenpox and asked parents to keep affected students at home.
In a letter to parents Thursday, Battle Ground Public Schools announced that Daybreak Elementary School students had been exposed to the disease between October 13 and 17. This letter tells parents of children who have not been vaccinated against chickenpox at home for 21 days after the last exposure or until November 12th.
The Columbian reports that the epidemic is affecting 38 students.
Children vaccinated against chickenpox, the chickenpox virus, can return to school normally Monday, announced the district.
About 7.5% of Kindergarten to Grade 12 students in Clark County have benefited from a vaccination exemption for medical, religious or personal reasons for the 2017-2018 school year, reports the County Health Department.
