Alabama (12-0) has ended one of the most dominant regular seasons in history. The Crimson Tide is the first team since Yale in 1888 to open a season with 12 consecutive wins of at least 20 points.
The reward? A SEC championship game against Georgia (11-1), which almost defeated Alabama at the national championship game earlier this year.
If Alabama wins, it will be the No. 1 seed in the playoffs, with a semifinal likely against Ohio State or Oklahoma. If he loses, well, the committee will have to choose between the tide, Buckeyes and Sooners.
After gaining the benefit of the doubt last year, Alabama might not have enough political capital to sneak in as a non-SEC champion. He certainly does not want to leave things to chance.

-Alabama was favored by two or more touchdowns against Michigan, Notre Dame and Central Florida in BetOnline's lineups for potential clashes with a national championship earlier this month.
