One of the men accused of attempting to assassinate Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro during an attack using explosive drones last month died under mysterious circumstances after to have fallen from a window. Government officials insisted that Fernando Albán, a 56-year-old city councilor in Caracas, committed suicide by jumping from the tenth floor of the Bolivarian Intelligence Service, the country's main intelligence service. But Albanian lawyer, Joel Garcia, told CNN that the government's story was "totally false". Albán was arrested Friday for his alleged involvement in the August 4th attack. Dramatic images of the assassination attempt showed two explosions during a military parade that dispersed soldiers. Luis Almagro, Secretary General of the Organization of American States, said that the death of Albán was the direct result of a "regime of torture and homicide".
