Sony's "venom" is about to break the record of the opening weekend of the previous October, with an estimated $ 80 million from 4,250 movie theaters.

The film, which stars Tom Hardy in the role of Eddie Brock, who will become the eponymous anti-hero Venom, is expected to beat the last record holder, "Gravity," who debuted in 2013 to $ 55.7 million. Sony predicts a more conservative estimate of $ 70 million, but even that figure marks a 22% margin over the initial "Gravity" count.

"Venom" earned $ 32.75 million on Friday, with a B + CinemaScore score and an ominous Tomato Tomato score of 31%. Its audience score is however a little more optimistic, at 89%. Ruben Fleischer led the dark scenario of a super hero's fable, with Michelle Williams, Rice Ahmed, Scott Haze and Reid Scott also on the bill. Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel wrote the script.

Lady Gaga and "A Star Is Born", one of the stars of the weekend, are expected to exceed initial expectations with $ 42 million from 3,686 national sites. The remake of Warner Bros. has already reported $ 6.0 million abroad on 4,590 screens. In the United Kingdom, revenues amount to $ 1 million: $ 375,000 in France, $ 580,000 in Germany and $ 107,000 in Russia. "Star" will be deployed in Korea, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, Australia and Japan in the weeks and months to come.

Expectations were high for "A Star is Born", which was first presented to laudatory critics at the Venice International Film Festival. The film marks the debut of Cooper's director of a script that he co-wrote with Eric Roth and Will Fetters. "Star" earned a 91% rating on rotten tomato strawberries, with an A CinemaScore.

The second frame of the feature film "Smallfoot" is expected to rank third at the box office with $ 14 million. The movie of the Warner Bros. family reported $ 52.6 million during its first eight days, including 21 million abroad. "Smallfoot" features vocal talents from Channing Tatum, Zendaya, LeBron James, Yara Shahidi, Common, Danny DeVito, Gina Rodriguez and Jimmy Tatro.

Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart's comedy "Night School" is looking to add an extra $ 12 million in total during its second weekend. Universal Peak debuted at $ 27 million last weekend and raised $ 43 million, including $ 5.9 million abroad.

Fifth should feature Universal's "Clock House", adding $ 7 million out of a total of $ 73 million in its third frame.

20th Century Fox's "The Hate U Give" and Universal's "Loving Pablo", which debuted in 36 and 15 screens, were also inaugurated for the weekend, for an estimated $ 550,000 and 15 $ 000. "The Hate U Give" is based on the novel by Angie Thomas, Amandla Stenberg. George Tillman Jr. directed the screenplay for Audrey Wells. The Spanish drama "Loving Pablo" stars Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz in the role of drug lord Pablo Escobar and journalist Virginia Vallejo, who have an affair in the 1980s.
