Veritas Project Takes Andrew Gillum, Campaign Staff Member, Calling Whites to Complain

Florida's Democratic governor candidate, Andrew Gillum, is the latest to have been stung by an undercover video of Project Veritas. A video released on Thursday shows a campaign staff member identified as Omar Smith, using a racial insult and saying the candidate is making promises he knows he can not keep.

"He's a cracker," Smith said. "Find? Ask anyone outside here. You are going to Port St. Lucia, Orlando … but these cookies will not let us do that. Boy, are you crazy?"

He went on to say, "Gillum is a progressive. He is one of the crazy, the crazy, the crazy. "

The clandestine journalist then asked how Gillum was planning to pay for many of his election promises. Smith replied in the negative. "It's not for them to know … It's not for [the voters] to know. Remember what we say, modern fairy tales start with "once I'm elected." "

Gillum is in a very close race against Republican Rep. Ron DeSantis. According to an Ipsos Public Affairs poll released on Tuesday, Gillum has gained six points.

President Donald Trump has engaged in this race by calling Gillum a "thief" because the mayor of Tallahassee was reportedly under investigation by the FBI. (RELATED: The records show that FBI agents Undercover FBI gave tickets to Andrew Gillum Broadway, refuting claims of the campaign)

The Veritas Project has also recently released videos of mid-term candidates, Phil Bredesen and Senator Claire McCaskill. The Daily Caller could not check the video independently.
