Verizon has confirmed on social networks what many of its customers report Wednesday morning (25 September) – voice service, text and intermittent data. The company's customer service thread on Twitter said it was "working diligently" to solve the problem.
Verizon Wireless is experiencing intermittent disruption of voice, text and data services for customers in some southern markets. Our engineers are aware of the problem and are working diligently to solve it.

While Verizon says the problem is limited to the southern United States, the website also shows emerging issues in Washington, DC, New York, and Boston. The biggest concentration problems are in Houston, Dallas and Austin, Texas. The City of Oklahoma; Tampa, Florida; Atlanta; Mobile, Alabama; and Baton Rouge, according to a downdector map showing faults.
