Five people were killed Thursday when a suspect opened fire in the press room of The Capital newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland. Authorities say that Jarrod Ramos aged 38, armed with a rifle, intentionally referred the newspaper.

A few hours after the massacre, the police confirmed the identity of the deceased employees: Gerald Fischman, Rob Hiaasen, John McNamara, Rebecca Smith and Wendi Winters.

Winters was the publisher of special publications. McNamara was a writer. Fischman was publisher of the editorial page. Smith was a sales assistant. Hiassen was deputy editor and columnist.
