Jared Kushner was found stuck in front of a locked door while he was trying to attend a business meeting on Thursday night in Washington, a video shows.
The White House senior advisor, who is also the son-in-law of President Donald Trump, waited one minute and 47 seconds in front of an entrance to the Winder Building, which houses the office of the US Trade Representative.
The office is the place for negotiations on the North American Free Trade Agreement, according to Katie Simpson, a journalist with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. who posted the video.
The video shows Kushner clumsily looking at reporters gathered outside and seemingly calling someone on his phone while an assistant looks out to the street.
Meanwhile, journalists can be heard asking Kushner about the progress of the NAFTA negotiations with Canada.
He was also questioned about his reaction to an explosive New York Times opinion piece written by a qualified person by the newspaper of "top Trump administration official" who claimed "to be part of the resistance" against the president.
Kushner and help have ignored all the questions.
The fate of NAFTA was left unresolved after the Trump administration informed Congress last month of its intention to enter into a bilateral trade agreement with Mexico without Canada. Canada could join later "if it wishes," said Robert Lighthizer, US Trade Representative, in a statement.
