UFC 232 will be the closing event of the year, and its star games will bring together some of the biggest names and champions of the MMA.
In the main event, we will have the return of former lightweight champion, Jon "Bones" Jones, who will face an old enemy in a rematch against Alexander "The Mauler" Gustafsson for the vacant heavyweight title light.
For Jones, this is his first appearance in the game since July 2017. He would score a knockout in the third round against current heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. This victory was canceled shortly after the fight while Jones would be positive to banned substances.
In front of him is the Swede Gustafsson, who won the victory unanimously in 2013.
Gustafsson's last fight took place in May 2017, after a spectacular performance against Glover Teixeira, which he would end up knocking out in the fifth and final round.
During the co-main evening, we will have the first female super fight in the history of MMA, while the bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes, rises and seeks to dethrone the queen of featherweight, Cris Cyborg.
Nunes has defended his title three times since his 2016 win over Miesha Tate. His current winning streak is now seven in a row since March 2015.
As for Cyborg, it has not lost since 2005, the year of its debut at the MMA. Having defended his UFC title twice now, it can be argued that this upcoming fight with Nunes will be his most difficult challenge to date as well as potentially his last (in the UFC).
UFC 232 will take place on December 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada, at T-Mobile Arena.
