Vontae Davis followed in the footsteps of Kyle Orton
Defensive back veteran Vontae Davis got the most incredible outing in the history of the NFL yesterday when he decided at halftime to qualify his career career. He put on his street clothes, got out of the stadium and decided to retire, right there. This is one of the cornerbacks of Bills!
Davis later stated that he realized in the first half that he was no longer on an NFL football field and that he should simply retire. (Buffalo was down 28-6, so maybe a few other players should have had the same epiphany.) He said he did not want to disrespect his teammates but they clearly still felt little respect.
"I have nothing to say about Vontae. I will give him a little more respect than he showed us today with regard to the resignation, "defensive end Lorenzo Alexander told reporters.
"He did not tell anyone," added Alexander. "You know as much as I know. I discovered the second part of the game. They said, he does not go out. He has taken his retirement. "(This is not the first time Davis has had a memorable start to a team either.)
The craziest thing is that Davis is the second Bills player to shoot something like this in recent years. After experiencing one of the best seasons of his career in 2014, Bills quarterback, Kyle Orton, has been sneakily retired the day after the end of the season.
The "meeting" he was referring to was with Head Coach Doug Marrone and General Manager Doug Whaley to tell them that he was retiring, and then he was gone. As with Davis, Orton's decision completely took his teammates by surprise.
Try this the next time you're tired of your job. Just tell people who really need to know and then slip into the sunset.
Marquette King takes it to Jon Gruden
The Raiders are 0-2 in the second round of Jon Gruden after losing to the Broncos in the last seconds of yesterday and no one is happier than Gruden Castoff Marquette King.
Gruden exchanged King for Denver because he did not want a punter with a personality, even if he is one of the best in the league. Well, after beating Gruden on Sunday afternoon, King made a video for his social media accounts where he made fun of Gruden (aka Chucky) and his $ 100 million salary.
This is how North Texas managed this trap
The huge upheaval of North Texas with regard to Arkansas was fueled by this simple return of stuff. Keegan Brewer sliced the Razorbacks for a 90-yard touchdown after acting like he'd made a nice catch.
SB Nation's Alex Kirshner spoke with Marty Biagi, Brewer and UNT's task force coach, about how they did it.
Was Brewer afraid it would not work and he'd explode?
"I was definitely," he told SB Nation. "But the gamble they pitched was not that high, so it was not the one I would be scared at. So, as soon as I caught it, I had a little time to protect myself, which even scared me a bit [about] before the game. But after that, once I had the ball, it was good.

Maybe it was too modest a goal, if only the Browns had a competent kicker.
