SUISUN CITY – Residents have the opportunity on Saturday to take part in a 1 to 3-mile walk around Suisun Harbor to fight Alzheimer's in Plaza Harbor City.
Registration begins at 8 am for the Walk to End Alzheimer's Disease, with opening ceremonies at 9 am and walking at 9:30 am.
According to the organizers, the annual events of the Walk to End Alzheimer's Disease take place every year in some 600 communities across the country. Last year, more than 500,000 walkers raised more than $ 82 million to help fight Alzheimer's disease.
According to the organizers of the event, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease – nearly 7,000 in Solano County alone. The walk brings the community together to seek treatment and to fund the many services provided by the Alzheimer's Association.
