OCALA, Fla. A 55-year-old man, allegedly shooting a woman in the garden center of an Ocala Walmart on Saturday afternoon, should not survive after being killed, according to the police department.

Police said David Johnson fired on Carli Cronin, 30, at around 2:30 pm at Walmart at 4980 E. Silver Springs Blvd.

According to the police, Cronin was arguing with Johnson at the garden center when she ran into the store and shouted for help.

The store's employees called 911 and tried to intervene, police said, but Johnson shot Cronin and ran away.

Ocala firefighters said they took Cronin to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where she died.

After taking the woman to the hospital, firefighters returned to Walmart after receiving several calls from people in distress, officials said.

The firefighters treated two people on the spot and transported another to the hospital, which had been injured while people evacuated the store during the incident, officials said.

Johnson fired a shot before the police apprehended him, the police said.

He was taken to a hospital. He should not survive, the police said.
