The world's largest retailer has warned customers about the impact of fares.

Two weeks ago, Walmart wrote to US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, warning that if the Trump administration imposed a tariff on Chinese imports, it could push up product prices, according to a Reuters letter.

Walmart stated that the tariff would affect the prices of everything from food products to beverages and personal care items.

Walmart confirmed it had sent the letter and, in a statement to Reuters, urged the two countries to find solutions.

Earlier this week, Trump intensified his trade war with China by imposing tariffs of 10% on about $ 200 billion of Chinese imports.

In its list of consumer products that may be affected by these rates, Walmart included gas barbecues, bicycles, Christmas lights and bicycles.

CNN Money was the first to report the news.

The US Trade Representative's office was not immediately available for comment.
