Warriors-Wizards watch guide: Lineups, injury reports, player usage

[ad_1]

OAKLAND — The Warriors in recent seasons practically have owned the Washington Wizards, and they’ll try to reassert their control when the teams meet Wednesday night at Oracle Arena.

Pregame coverage on NBC Sports Bay Area begins at 5 p.m. with “The Happy Hour,” followed by “Warriors Pregame Live” at 6:30. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:35.

The Warriors have won 13 of the last 15 games against the Wizards, including a 4-0 record at home under coach Steve Kerr.

The featured matchups are in the backcourt, where Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson face John Wall and Bradley Beal. Though the debate over which duo is better — reasonable conversation five years ago — has been squashed, it’s still four All-Stars in full competition.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the Warriors-Wizards game:

Projected Starting Lineups

Warriors
F Kevin Durant
F Draymond Green
C Damian Jones
G Klay Thompson
G Stephen Curry

Wizards
F Otto Porter Jr.
F Markieff Morris
C Ian Mahinmi (game-time decision)
G Bradley Beal
G John Wall

Injury Reports

Warriors
C DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles tendon surgery rehab) is listed as out.

Wizards
C Ian Mahinmi (back spasms) is listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision. C Dwight Howard (gluteal soreness) is listed as out.

Rotation Outlook

Warriors
With Shaun Livingston returning after a two-game absence, Golden State will have its full rotation available for the first time since opening night.

Pay particular attention to how Kerr uses his centers. Washington played a lot of small-ball two nights ago in Portland, with Morris at center. This could be a game in which Kevon Looney and Jordan Bell combine to play 25 to 30 minutes at center. It’s also conceivable that Jonas Jerebko will see time at center as well as power forward.

Wizards
They underwent a much-needed bench remodeling in the offseason, bringing in Austin Rivers and Jeff Green to support incumbent sixth man Kelly Oubre Jr. Oubre is a solid player most familiar to Warriors fans for charging into a fracas between Green and Beal when the teams met in Oakland last season.
