At some point, the Giants will realize that quarterback Eli Manning is doing more harm than bad at an offensive packed with dynamic playmakers, and that the Thursday night's 13th loss to the Eagles at MetLife Stadium could have been such a moment.
The Eagles trailed a battered second in the match and again smothered the wide receiver Odell Beckham. The Eagles started Week 6 after averaging 277 yards per game. Without attacking midfielder Saquon Barkley, Manning would not have been close to that number.
At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Barkley had amassed 204 yards on the ground and one touchdown. The Giants totaled 297 offensive yards, Manning's passes to unnamed Barkley targets totaling 104 yards. Manning launched a disastrous interception in the second part.

Manning was so unfit that at half-time his quarterback rating was 99.5 points inferior 137.3 Carson Wentz.
The reality of NFC East is that the Eagles (3-3) are at the top of the division, while the 1-5 Giants are still not eliminated mathematically.
