WATCH OUT: Is Giants coach Pat Shurmur stuck on the Titanic bridge?

For the record, coach Pat Shurmur is not "concerned" by the seemingly deteriorating play of quarterback Eli Manning nor by the Giants' much-criticized efforts in a loss to the Eagles.

It evokes the image of the orchestra who decided to continue playing in the chaos of a ship in distress towards the end of the film "Titanic". There comes a time when it is normal not to stay calm.

It became clear last week, with the drama started by Odell Beckham, that what Shurmur said in front of the media and how he feels behind closed doors do not always match.

But as the world of football – the media, the professional football Hall of Fame and the ancient Giants – tore the Giants for the Manning game and the defense effort, Shurmur refuted the observations of the naked eye Thursday night at his press conference following a 34-13 loss.

Giants revive hell 2017 after the eruption

"I'm not worried about Eli," Shurmur said. "As I said, none of us have done anything good enough to win tonight."

He added: "No complaints with the effort. They fought until the end."

The Giants may have more character in their locker rooms than in 2017 after a complete redesign of their staff and a new coaching staff, but the problems they face seem quite familiar.

The offensive is struggling to score points. And, for the first time this season, the defense has sometimes given dubious efforts, even though several players have denied the sighting presented by FOX's Troy Aikman.

Shurmur was waiting for his team to be galvanized after a heartbreaking defeat and the Beckham-Lil Wayne-Manning circus. What happened?

"I think we are (galvanized)," said Shurmur. "We were beaten by a good team and we did not play well enough, I do not think it's too much to think about that."

Watch the video above as NJ Advance Media drummers Matt Lombardo and Ryan Dunleavy react to the first loss of the non-competitive Giants season. They disagree on the most alarming sign – there is a lot to choose from – but agree that this season is over.

In addition, Saquon Barkley is very good. And the resolution of the drama Beckham.
