Mr. Steven has a net to catch rocket parts.

As the old saying goes, if you fail at the beginning, try, try again.

SpaceX tried another time to catch the fairing of a rocket (a cone of protection), using a boat nicknamed Mr. Steven.

Poor Mr. Steven. It may have fingers of butter, according to a video published by SpaceX Tuesday. The fairing has just slipped from the net of the boat.

In a tweet, SpaceX said that it was "one of the last tests of the west coast refit of Mr. Steven before his expedition to the east coast."

This is not the first time the fairing misses the check mark. The last catch match was earlier in January.

SpaceX wants to catch the rocket fairings so that he can reuse them. Founder Elon Musk has been working for a long time on ways to reuse rockets to make launches cheaper and faster. In December, SpaceX used one of its simple boosters for the third time. The company also plans to lay off 10% of its workforce.
