Thom Yorke unveiled his new single "Volk" in his next album Suspiria soundtrack. The singer of Radiohead joins again with the animator RUFFMERCY for the visual elements of the soundtrack.
The full-fledged instrumental song sounds like a warning signal with its humming, white-sounding debut, which serves as a backdrop to a rhythmically abstract figure and to which a seemingly endless tunnel emerges. The tense atmosphere dissipates and creates waves while several characters frantically approach anxious instrumentals, which swell cacophonous rhythms towards the end of the song.
"Volk" follows previously published Suspiria "Suspirium" and "Has Ended". The soundtrack of 25 Yorke songs for Luca Guadagnino's remake of the 1977 horror film of the same name by Dario Argento arrives on Oct. 26, the same day it's released.
Next month, Yorke begins a solo tour of the United States, which begins Nov. 23 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Electric Factory and ends in Las Vegas, Nevada at Cosmopolitan's Chelsea on Dec. 22.
