We are in September, the NFL season starts on Thursday and the New York Mets are out of competition since the Kentucky Derby. Oh, and they play on the west coast against Los Angeles at odd hours of the night. Unless Jacob deGrom launches (and also hits, and drives the team, and sells beers in the stands, etc.), there is absolutely no reason to talk about this baseball club.

Still, believe it or not, even the Mets can have beautiful things. For example, this remarkable Todd Frazier caught up with Monday night's game, which was a Mets victory! Yes, deGrom launched and had a RBI single, but it was only the next night that we discovered the real highlight of the game. Steve Gelbs, of SNY, reported that Frazier's dive into the first line at the Dodger stadium did not actually occur, even though it counted. Watch this video to see what we mean:
First, the reports of Gelbs snitch. Second, we have so many questions. Who brings a rubber baseball in a game? Was it actually a rubber baseball or a football ball earlier in the night? How did they even get that in the game? Why is it just sitting there? How does Frazier have the presence of mind to even seize this thing? How did Dodger fans not take it? How did the umps not catch that? What is happening here !!!
Really amazing that this has happened, especially with all the slow re-readings that happen every night. Although I guess that this one was not revisable. Hat at Frazier. A win for the good guys and a big L for big bad guys.
