FEDERAL HEIGHTS, Colorado – A holiday attraction supposedly illuminating the Water World car park this winter has delayed its grand opening for at least a week due to gusts of wind that hit the Front Range on Saturday night.
"Christmas in Color" was scheduled to open Friday, but Melissa Smuzynski, media relations spokeswoman for "Christmas in Color", forced her plans to stop until further notice.
"We have been prepared and read for our grand opening. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had different plans, "Christmas in Colorado CEO Todd Glover said in a statement sent to Denver7.
Friday's winds damaged many lighting elements and displays at the passing of holiday lights, said Smuzynksi, adding that teams were working for two days to replace broken bulbs and mutilated lights. .
"But a second gust of wind on Saturday night left huge damage that will take up to a week to repair," she said.
If you have purchased a ticket for this weekend, Water World officials declare that you should have received an email allowing you to postpone your visit or get a refund.
