In a statement to E! News, Vogue explained that his inspiration for Jenner's hair had just looked back.

"The image is supposed to be an update of Edwardian / Gibson Girl's romantic hair that suits the vintage mood of the Brock collection, as well as the great hair of the '60s and early '0s. 70s, who puffed at watching these times, "read the statement. "We apologize if the result was different than expected, and we certainly did not want to offend anyone."

Some Instagram users have expressed disappointment with the choice of magazine in the comments of the image, while others have taken its defense.

"They stay so that white women become black women," wrote a user. "They pretend rather that we do not exist then we give the credit.

Another user said, "We had a habit of burning our hair and our chemicals because the company had taught us that we were not beautiful with our afros. They are now copying our Afros but can not use BLACK models with Afros!

"She looks stupid, let the afros fall for the beautiful black women," another realized.

Others were less convinced that the hairstyle was an afro attempt.

"I see teased hair waiting for a hive! That's all!" a user wrote. "All the anger about this is nonsense." Even if the intention was to be an afro, it's not her hella! Look at our black kings and queens and google what looks like an afro, angry for nothing. "

"I am everything for my people but you are really touching it," wrote one person, "his hair is curly and teased, it does not look like an afro"

This is not the first time Jenner has been involved in a controversy. An advertisement for Pepsi in 2017 featuring Jenner was withdrawn after critics found the tone dull. In the ad, Jenner joined a Black Lives Matter-style march and gave a Pepsi to a cop equipped with riot gear.

Jenner's older sister, Kim Kardashian West, has also been accused of cultural appropriation. Earlier this year, she attributed her blonde braids to Bo Derek, who wore the style of the movie "10" of 1979. The shock in return did not prevent her from repeating the hairstyle at the MTV Movie & TV Awards. June.
