Week 11 left the picture in college football largely status quo, resulting in only minor shuffling in the Amway Coaches Poll. In a mostly upset-free week, the top 11 teams remain the same with a only one minor position change.

Alabama continues to lead the field. The Crimson Tide once again received all but one first-place vote from the 65 coaches on the panel following a second consecutive shutout of a ranked opponent, this time Mississippi State. Clemson prevailed on the road at Boston College and holds down the No. 2 spot keeping the remaining first-place vote. Notre Dame, Michigan and Georgia hold steady in the top five with Oklahoma staying put at No. 6 after surviving a wild Bedlam shootout with Oklahoma State.

West Virginia edges ahead of Ohio State into the No. 7 spot. The Mountaineers handled TCU at home while the Buckeyes prevailed in a defensive struggle on the road at Michigan State. Washington State, LSU and Central Florida retain the next three places.

Stock up: Iowa State. The Cyclones make the biggest move within the top 25, gaining seven places to No. 18 following a win against Baylor that keeps them in the Big 12 championship hunt.

Stock down: Kentucky. The voters were kind to the Wildcats last week after a loss to Georgia, but a second setback at unranked Tennessee caused a nine-place drop to No. 21.

Stock up: Texas. The Longhorns needed a late score to survive Texas Tech’s comeback, but they climb five places to No. 14 as a result of the win.

Stock down: Mississippi State. As mentioned, the Bulldogs aren’t the first team to be blanked by Alabama. But their 6-4 record couldn’t be overlooked by the voters, who dropped them eight positions to No. 23.

Stock up: Alabama-Birmingham. In a remarkable development for a program coming back from being shut down, the Blazers are in the top 25 for the first time in history. UAB clinched the Conference USA West title, outlasting Southern Mississippi in overtime Saturday, in just the second year of the program’s rebirth.

Stock down: Boston College. The Eagles couldn’t get much going on offense against Clemson, and take an eight-place hit to check in at No. 22.

New kids on the block: No. 24 Boise State, No. 25 UAB.

College dropouts: North Carolina State, Fresno State.
