West Virginia is ranked number 2 on the list of Fattest States in America.
7News spoke to Joe Slavik of Howard Long Wellness Center about ways to fight this problem.

"
Slavik said that the most important factor for people is their regular physical activity.
He said that when it comes to exercising a routine, people must do something that they like and that they will stick to it.
"The most important thing for people to maintain an activity program is to create a buddy system, so they have to be accountable to someone else and do something about it. They like it. "It's not something that looks a lot like work," said Slavik. .
Sticking to a physical routine will also help prevent the diagnosis of several diseases.
"When you have higher levels of obesity, the risk of heart disease increases dramatically, the risk of diabetes, the risk of hypertension," Slavik said. "So if you want to have a healthier life and enjoy your retirement as you get older, being physically active is the way to go."
Slavik said that if people want to start being physically active, they should start by talking to their doctor.
