Hot questions: Heartbreaks and heartburn for the Detroit Lions caused by too much Chase Daniel and two interceptions of too much by Matthew Stafford late in the game resulted in a 23-16 loss to the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving Day at Ford Field.
Question:What were the key factors in the game and what does it mean for Lions for the rest of the season?
Reply: The key factor was the game of quarterbacks. Backup Chase Daniel threw two touchdown passes and made no major mistakes, while Matthew Stafford had no touchdown passes and two decisive interceptions.
Bottom line: Lions can forget all hope of participating in the playoffs. They have a 4-7 win-loss record, while the Bears have taken a better hold on NFC North's first place by winning their fifth straight game to reach 8-3.
The Bears beat the Lions twice in 12 days, and it was not by chance. They are the best team. there is no doubt.
Q. Stafford:Is he to blame for losing the game?
A. It was not entirely his fault, but with the ball in his hand at a critical time, he had two interceptions on the last two possessions.
The first was scored by a 41-yard touchdown by Eddie Jackson to break the tie and give the Bears a 23-16 lead – ultimately, the final score.
The second took place when the Lions drove to the 12 Bears with a first try and two minutes.
Stafford attempted to hit Michael Roberts in the end zone, third and ninth. The pass was not close to Roberts. Kyle Fuller completed the interception that ended the training, won the game and the Lions are now considering the dark prospect of playing in the last five games without any legitimate chance to play in the playoffs.
