What were the Giants doing in their last loss to the Falcons?

The New York Giants have a really terrible start this season, but they still have a small chance to win late against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night football. However, they did not facilitate the task.

The Giants lost 23-12 with 45 seconds left on the Falcons line. The win is still long, but a touchdown and a two-point conversion would give the Giants a chance to try an opposing kick and send the game overtime with a long punt attempt.

Well, the first part arrived, but the second could not because of the way they performed.

As time passed, the Giants decided to hold TWO stealth with Eli Manning.

And both failed:

This not only lost about 40 seconds of time, but also a reminder that Manning is 37 and has only touched one touchdown in the past four seasons (and only six in his career).

The Giants finally played a short pass to Odell Beckham for a touchdown … with 5 seconds to go.

The Giants having no waiting time, they had to hurry to get to the line of scrimmage. Beckham's touch was magnificent:

But that could have happened earlier in the training, especially when they could not stop the clock. The Giants had called their three playoffs before the two-minute warning over Atlanta's previous training, when the Falcons scored a goal on a 56-yard field goal to make the game 23-12. The setback is still 20/20, but the Giants should probably leave one of those deadlines in their back pocket for this situation.

After Beckham's score, Saquon Barkley got a two-point conversion to qualify the Giants to less than three:

So where were these gaming calls when the Giants arrived for the first time at the 1-yard line?

This season, the Giants paid Beckham $ 90 million and drafted Barkley with choice # 2. It would have made sense to use these players when the game is on the line.

Beckham also had a monster night – he finished the game with eight catches for 143 yards and a touchdown. At one point in the match, Giants coach Pat Shurmur was visibly upset with Manning for not throwing the ball at Beckham to score the game tied at 10.

After the match, Shurmur, who had been aggressive throughout the match, defended his call to sneak into the quarterback rather than pass earlier in the final training.

"No, it's a defeatist agreement. You should be able to convert on a stealth, and we've all seen [Manning] do this.

This may be a reasonable explanation for a quarter stealth, but two? And burn that a lot of time out of the clock?

The Giants had the right idea on the kick, but the execution terrible.

The Giants missed their attempt with a long shot to the goal to put them in the penalty area, but there was only 5 seconds left. Trying to hit a normal kick would leave them in a Hail Mary situation, if they had found him. They needed to put the ball a little further on the field to score a goal if they recovered.

Unfortunately for the Giants, they kicked just behind Julio Jones, who easily recovered the ball.

Atlanta then knelt to end the match, retaining a 23-20 win.

That brought the Giants down to 1-6 during the season, which made them beat last in the NFC East. But at the very least, this loss puts them in the driver's seat for a choice of choice at the top of the NFL 2019 Draft.
