For some, the first pre-season of the latest edition of the Memphis Grizzlies will give the impression of being a brand new show.

Of course, the pillars (Mike Conley, Marc Gasol) are back for another year in the lead roles. Supporting players have undergone a substantial transformation this season, and Tuesday's opening match against the Houston Rockets before the start of the qualifying season (a non-television show at 7 pm at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama) will help greatly to chemistry.

"As a team, we want to see the postponement of our practices," Conley said Monday. "The timing of the offensive and the defense, set our tempo, our style of play and regain a good rhythm at the beginning of the regular season."
