The old gods come back! Nearly two years after the first season seduced viewers, Starz's television adaptation American gods is back for his second season. On Friday afternoon, casting and executive producer Neil Gaiman presented for the first time a preview of what we can expect when the series returns in 2019.
The second season picks up where we left off in the first, after the epic confrontation of Easter. Shadow (Ricky Whittle) finally knows who he's working for, as he and Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) continue their journey across the country. The brief teaser gives us a glimpse of the coming war between the ancient gods (including Yetide Badaki (Bilquis) and Orlando Jones (Mr. Nancy)) and the new (Bruce Langley (Technical Boy) and Crispin Glover (Mr. World) Laura Moon (Emily Browning) and Mad Sweeney (Pablo Schreiber) are embarking on a personal adventure while, as Gaiman simply said in the panel, "The situation is getting worse dramatically for everyone."
Although the teaser does not give an exact date for the start of season two, we know that it will come back in 2019 at some point! Since the first season started in April, we can assume that it will be around the same time. Check out the full teaser above and stay on your guard for more details, as the first of the season approaches.
