The dead who walk Season 9 continues with episode 6 and the first episode of the post-Rick era is a big one. Whisperers and baby talk are a big problem for the upcoming plot, and The Spoiling Dead Fans features the weekly scoop.
SPOILERS for episode 6 of The dead who walk follow this break. Those who do not want to know anything about the next episode have to navigate elsewhere.
The episode begins six years after Rick's departure. Michonne goes to the place where he fainted. She misses her husband, and really believes that he's dead. The infamous bridge has not been rebuilt. She also finds an abandoned car and takes a sheriff with her among the supplies.
Predictably, much of Episode 6 focuses on how key members of the community have responded to life without Rick. Michonne, who now heads to Alexandria and is the mother of a child believed to be Rick's, is reluctant to let any new survivors into the community. Carol is the queen of the kingdom and she has abandoned her savage tendencies for peaceful resolutions. Daryl, completely devastated by this loss, chose to live alone in the desert.
In terms of intrigue, episode 6 spans the Judith Cliffhanger revealed last week. She begs Michonne to give the new group a chance, but her adoptive mother is not convinced. Magna, one of the new survivors, causes problems at the board meeting in an attempt to conceal a knife and revealing an alleged tattoo in the prison. Michonne sends the group to the hill saying "she can help them." Although this was not explicitly stated, it seems that "she" is Maggie.
Speaking of prison, Judith also visits Negan in her cell for help with her homework. Negan tries to gather information about the Magna tribe, but Judith is wise enough to reprimand her attempts.
Carol faces her own problems when she takes Henry to the top of the hill to see Earl. It was stolen by a group of rescuers on the road, and they take his alliance at the same time. Henry says Carol should have fought, and she does it eventually. She tracks down the thief and burns him alive. She is also looking for Daryl.
Father Gabriel is now officially attached to Rosita and the couple is working with Eugene to reinforce the signal of a radio that Gabriel has found. The episode ends with Rosita and Eugene camouflaged in the mud as walkers who talk about previous trailers pass. Get ready, because the evil Whisperers have arrived!
That's all we know about episode 6 of The dead who walk until there. As with all spoiler reports, there may be slight inconsistencies or misinterpretations with respect to the final episode.
The dead who walk continues on November 11 on AMC at 9 pm local time.
