The university system of Maryland's governing board has been held to meet the expectations of the University of Maryland's football team's culture.

Barry P. Gossett
Gossett, the Board of Regents Vice Chair, has served on the board since 2007. He is the retired CEO of Baltimore-based Acton Mobile Industries, which provides mobile offices, build trailers and modular buildings. He has multiple connections to the University of Maryland, College Park and its football program. Gossett is an alumnus of the school and co-chair of the Fearless Ideas Campaign for the state flagship. Gossett, along with his wife, Mary, donated $ 10 million in 2007 to build their team.
Gary L. Attman
He is the CEO of FutureCare Health and Management Corp., which he co-founded in 1985. He also graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Linda R. Gooden

Michelle A. Gourdine
Gourdine, the Board of Regents Secretary, has served the board since 2015. She is a physician and health policy expert who serves as CEO of Michelle Gourdine & Associates, a health consulting firm that develops strategies to improve the well-being of women, people of color, and under-served groups. She is also the Maryland deputy secretary of health for the state of Maryland, and a former Baltimore County health commissioner.
Robert D. Rauch
Rauch, the Board of Regents, assistant secretary, has served on the board since 2013. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in engineering. He served for six years as Director of Public Works and Talbot County Engineer before moving to the private sector. He's still a registered engineer in Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.
Joseph Bartenfelder
Bartenfelder was appointed to the board in 2014. Maryland's secretary of agriculture the year before. Bartenfelder has been a full-time farmer and small-business man for more than 35 years. He previously served on the Baltimore County Council and chaired the county's Spending Affordability Committee. He was a member of the House of Delegates from 1983 to 1994.
Katrina J. Dennis, Esq.
Dennis has been appointed to the board in 2017. She is a partner in the Baltimore office of the Saul Ewing LLP law firm. Title IX, Title VII and Other State and Federal Discrimination Statutes. Hogan appointed Dennis to the Appellate Courts Judicial Nominating Commission.
Ellen Fish
Fish is appointed to the board in 2016. She serves as Hamilton Bank's executive vice president and chief lending officer. The Towson University Foundation and the Women's Leadership Education Initiative for Virginia Tech.
James Holzapfel
Holzapfel was appointed to the board in 2016. He is the managing director of the Holzapfel Investment Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1971. He has served as president of the Hagerstown / Washington County Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Hagerstown Commercial Industrial Commission and chairman of the Washington County Public School Foundation.

Johnson has served on the board since 2016. She has been a partner with the Bonner Kiernan Trebach & Crociata Law LLP since 2002. She has practiced law for more than 40 years. She has served as president of the Board of Directors of the Huntington Woods Property Owners Association. She is also on the Board of Directors for Bello Machre, which provides residential and community-based services to individuals with developmental delays.
Robert Neall
Neall was appointed to the board in 2015. He is the Maryland health department secretary and a senior adviser to Hogan. He is the former chairman of the Maryland Higher Education Labor Relations Board. Neall served as a member of the state Senate from 1996 to 2003 and in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1975 to 1987. He was Anne Arundel County Executive from 1990 to 1994.
Robert Pevenstein
Pevenstein was appointed to the Board in 2015, but was previously served on the Board of Regents from 2003 to 2008. He was a chief financial officer for 20 years, concluding at UNC, formerly United Nuclear Corp., an aviation services and manufacturing company. He also served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park
Louis Pope
Pope has served on the board since 2016. He is the president of Century 21 Trademark Realty Inc., a real estate company with offices in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. He is an alumnus of the University of Maryland, College Park. He is the Deputy Chairman of the Republican National Committee and Chairman of the Maryland Republican Party, and Chairman of the RNC National Budget Committee.
Robert Wallace
He is a member of the Greater Baltimore Committee, Maryland Economic Development Commission and Kennedy Krieger Institute. He is currently Chair of the Roundtable, an organization made of regional CEOs of black-owned companies.
William Wood
Wood has served on the board since February 2018, but previously served in 1999. He is the founding president of the University of Maryland College Park Alumni Association. He graduated from the state and has been a lawyer for over 40 years. He founded Wood Law Offices in Rockville. Wood is the president of the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association.
Langston O. Frazier
Frazier is the student member of the Board of Regents. He is a senior at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, where he is pursuing a degree in PGA Golf Management, with an emphasis in hospitality and tourism management.
