Jermaine Kearse became invisible at the worst possible moment.
Kearse was held without conceding a goal and was only targeted twice – out of 42 shots – in the 37-17 win of the Jets against the Vikings on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
It was a brutal moment to disappear, since the Jets did not have two of the four main receivers: the injured Quincy Enunwa and the now-cut Terrelle Pryor.

Kearse clearly did not appreciate his lack of productivity. His frustration was palpable when the subject was raised.
But why did he suddenly become AWOL? Did the Vikings' defense do anything different? Was it cheating or shadowing in his direction to remove one of the last proven threats from Jets to wide receiver?
"Not that I noticed," says Kearse. "It's hard, it's out of my control."
This last line was something he came back to several times.
Kearse never mentioned specifically who exactly had control. But the implication is pretty obvious and does not require a lot of reading between the lines.
"As a receiver, we always feel open," Kearse said. "I do not know, I'm going to look in. I felt like I had some opportunities.It's just something that's beyond my control.I have to control what I can and continue to keep going. from there and make sure that most of my opportunities when I have them ".
Looks like Kearse thinks Sam Darnold just missed it.
These tense words are an interesting departure from last week, when Darnold found Kearse nine times for 94 yards.
This performance seemed to be the next party for Kearse, who started slowly this season, mainly because of an injury.
Then came Sunday's performance, which was an obvious setback in the duo's relationship on the pitch.
But for his part, Darnold did not think Kearse was agreed on these missed opportunities.
"Obviously, we would like to give Jermaine a little more ball," said Darnold. "But at the same time, it's just me who's trying to find the guy open to every game and running.If Jermaine gets his catch, he has it.But that's about it."
