Buck Showalter will not be back in 2019, so here are five candidates to replace him as Baltimore Orioles manager.
Buck Showalter had unprecedented success as manager of Baltimore Orioles after taking over from mid-season 2010, with five consecutive undefeated seasons (2012-2016) and three appearances in the playoffs. But an expiring contract and a 47-115 paved the way for an exit. It was confirmed Wednesday that Showalter would no longer be back as manager of the Orioles in 2019.
The CEO, Dan Duquette, has also left the group, a new senior official will ideally be able to conduct a search for executives. But the owner, Peter Angelos, will certainly have something to say or, at least, he will pass on his wishes to his sons, who now take a leading role in the property.
A reconstruction is underway in Baltimore, with several veterans having been sent packing at or near the trade deadline this year. So a young manager might be the best solution for a young group of players, with a minor league coaching experience, a mark in the corner of the players.
It is exactly the direction that the Orioles will take to find a new director, specifying when and how a new general manager is hired. The general manager should come first, then a management hiring, but with a dynamic at the top of the Orioles organization, nothing can be supposed.

5. Billy Ripken
Of course, Ripken is the brother of Hall of Fame member Cal Ripken Jr. He currently works as an analyst for Sirius XM and MLB Network. Rumor has it that he replaces Showalter, but his interest in management is unclear.
With what the Ripken family name means for the Orioles baseball story, engaging Billy would bring unparalleled prestige. But it can not be excluded, at least not yet.
