Why Carl and Lori from Walking Dead did not appear in the last episode of Rick

Spoilers below for those who have not yet watched the latest episode of The Walking Dead, in which Rick Grimes said goodbye.

When "What Comes After" comes to the end of its credits, The dead who walk had left the viewers in a state of massive confusion. Not only was Rick Grimes still alive, but the jump in six years revealed that his legacy had been extended through Judith Grimes' evolution. Lori's flagrant absence, that of Chandler Riggs and Sarah Wayne Callies, was equally disconcerting, but show star Angela Kang said letting them out was a deliberate part of the plan. This is how she explained it:

Hearing Angela Kang say that it helps dispel some of the curiosity of the series and does not bring in the characters Rick has known and loved most in his early years. Rick needed the kind of inspiring hallucinations that would light a fire under his ass, even if they were also very dark and depressing.

If Rick had fallen in the West Georgia penitentiary at one point in the episode and found Carl and Lori sitting together at the same place where Lori had died, that might have destroyed the viewers. Especially since he would have found mental peace in their presence, letting him stop fighting to stay alive.

Angela Kang also told the Huffington Post that it was important for Rick to meet people who were not his own biological members or legal family members, so that he could fully realize that he was not a member of the family. he was only one with all the others.

All things considered, it would have been quite messed up if Rick had chosen to host the death after dreaming of Lori and Carl. Not wanting to insult them or anything, but Rick lived for a long time without Carl and even longer without Lori. So I can not imagine the fans praising the character when he mentally dismissed Michonne, Judith and the others to find peace with the dead family members.

Despite all the fans could not see with Sarah Wayne Callies's Lori, her voice was actually used during this emotional episode. Among the different voices heard, "What is your injury?" Lori is the one who arrived just before Rick caught up with Shane. So, at least, that led him to move it forward, and it was not even at the end of a broken phone.
