P & G rolled out the new "Tide Eco-Box" on Friday. It includes a pourable opening for detergent, a sliding rack and a measuring cup. The liquid formula, which contains less water than normal Tide, comes in a sealed bag.
The version uses 60% less plastic than sending an equivalent 150 ml bottle of Tide since it does not require additional layers of cardboard or bubble wrap. It is lighter and takes up less space in a delivery truck, which allows P & G to save money on shipping costs.

P & G – the owner of major brands such as Gillette, Pampers, Old Spice, Head & Shoulders and Dawn – is striving to meet the challenge of shipping more products to buyers.
P & G's digital sales grew 30% last year to $ 4.5 billion. They represent about 7% of the largest conglomerate of consumer products in the world.
The company has organized a unit within its fabric care business, which also includes Ariel and Downy, dedicated to digital innovations.
"It's a fundamentally different approach from the one we've adopted in the past," said Sundar Raman, vice president of North America's North American tissue care business. & G.
Online shipping increases the risk of leaks or spills of liquid products throughout the supply chain. These products are packaged, unpacked and bundled with other items more often on the way home from customers. Online deliveries also rely more on cardboard and plastic, which poses additional risks for the environment and sustainability.
In response, P & G has developed a new "AeroFlexx" package for liquid products such as Dawn soap and Old Spice body wash.
Bottle and flat design without cap use 50% less plastic and do not require bubble wrap for shipping. According to P & G, the softer bottle facilitates pouring and facilitates use with one hand.
