It is possible that President Trump will revisit the Mueller inquiry with nostalgia and nostalgia next year – given what will happen to his administration in the new Democratic House of Representatives.

The House has 27 separate committees to oversee the activities of the executive branch in their respective areas. Each of these has a Republican president and a Republican majority since Trump took office. Beginning in January, each of these committees will have a Democratic president and a Democratic majority.
The Democratic majority of each committee will now decide what the committee will do with its time. According to my calculations, 22 of these 27 committees deal with substantive issues for which Democrats have already expressed dissatisfaction, horror or concern over the behavior of the Trump administration.
Let's see some of them, are we going? The Armed Services Committee of the House deals with the US Army and the Pentagon. Questions have been raised about the politicized nature of the president's deployment of troops to the US border to protect the country from the caravan of migrants.
I bet you have not heard from Washington's representative Adam Smith, who will chair the committee. But you go. Oh yes, you will do it when he convenes Defense Secretary Jim Mattis at a hearing to determine the cost of the mission, who ordered it, what was the purpose and if Mattis was himself there. agree with this idea.
He will be on the front pages of all newspapers and his audience will be broadcast live on cable news channels.
What about the foreign affairs committee of the House? It's Eliot Engel, from New York, who will chair this meeting, and you can bet that Engel will be interested in State Department representatives on the backstage of the scene between Saudi Arabia and the United States. United States, including on matters concerning the confusion of US foreign policies with the interests of Trump family businesses.
Oh, and let's not forget the Judiciary Committee of the House, are we going? My Congressman, Jerry Nadler, will be responsible for this one. Even a boring committee like Natural Resources has an ambitious goal: Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, who has been referred two different cases by the Inspector General of the Department for criminal prosecution.
Note that I did not even mention Ivanka's emails. Or the family business of Jared Kushner in China. Or about a hundred other controversial topics. And I can not mention things that have not happened yet – strange new developments, the kind that the Trump administration seems to generate every week and that will certainly continue to happen in 2019.
Mueller's investigation was generally very discreet, except in the case of charges and trials. He was also largely confined to one subject. Most of the issues I am talking about here will be discussed aloud and without restraint by elected officials who will feel especially emboldened by the results of the mid-term elections.
These results not only revealed a gain of 40 seats in the House of Democrats, but also a national popular vote margin of more than eight points on Republicans during a sabbatical year in which Democrats collected almost as many votes as Donald Trump. marked in 2016.
Mueller was the only game in town for anti-Trump action since his appointment in May 2017. Now there will be so many games for anti-trumpers that it will be like a Trump casino in the day.
