Jada Pinkett Smith explains why her husband and wife, Will Smith, see themselves as "life partners" instead of being "married."
"I needed a different form to dispel any expectations I had about a marriage," Jada told PEOPLE in this week's issue. "I needed to do this to see Will apart from my husband and see him as a human being."

The parents of their daughter Willow, 17, and their sons Jaden, 20, and Trey, 25, celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in December 2017, but continue to change the meaning of their relationship.
"We have all these expectations" Talk Red Table host, 47, says. "Oh, that's what a husband is. That's what a woman is. 'I started to dissolve all ideas, expectations and labels.'
Jada will have her actor husband, 50, on her Facebook Watch show when she returns Monday, to discuss in more detail the nuances of their unique partnership.
