The Hollywood giant celebrated its 50th anniversary by completing its course in the United States by broadcasting it live on its YouTube channel.
Yes Theory had challenged him to finish the jump, and he had done it with more than a little nervousness.
Since it took place on the Grand Canyon surrounded by friends and family, it is not surprising that this is a daunting task.
"It goes from pure terror to pure happiness," he said.
In a somewhat disturbing way, he had previously revealed that the jump had been tested with a manikin beforehand – and that the manikin's leg had fallen.
In a later reaction video, Smith said, "You have to commit yourself.
"Life is hard, you could be hurt, your heart could be broken, you could lose your job, but you still have to hire."
The jump was made to raise awareness at the Global Citizen charity – which aims to eliminate extreme poverty.
The money raised during this event will go to a project called Education Can not Wait, which aims to provide access to education for children in the most deprived areas.
Sending to former co-star of Fresh Prince, Alfonso Ribeiro, the star of Men in Black said: "I will not be able to articulate right away, but here is a real relationship between freedom and joy.
"There is an idea bubbling in my head, like the fear of a cage, fear actually holding you back.
"My father arrived a little over a year ago and there is something in the confrontation with death that makes you live more freely.
"The freedom to be fair and to do who and what you are is absolutely exhilarating."
Smith's YouTube channel, launched less than a year ago, already has more than 2.5 million subscribers and over 60 million views.
Last year he was seen in Netflix, and he will appear soon in Aladdin's remake.
Other upcoming projects include Spies In Disguise and Gemini Man.
