Willie Nelson will attend a rally in Austin on Saturday night to support Democratic Senate candidate Beto O'Rourke. The songwriter will perform at the Shores Auditorium in Austin alongside acts such as Leon Bridges, Lukas and Micah Nelson, Carrie Rodriguez, Tameca Jones, Joe Ely and others.
"My wife, Annie, and I met Beto and talked to him, and we share his concern about where things are going," Nelson said. Rolling stone. "Beto embodies what's special about Texas, a totally authentic energy and integrity."
This is not the first time Nelson has shown support for a presidential candidate. In 1980, the songwriter produced on the South Lawn of the White House to support President Jimmy Carter. He also played alongside O'Rourke earlier this year at the July 4th Annual Picnic in Austin.
O'Rourke should also speak at the rally, which is open to the public through a simple online registration available on O'Rourke's website.
