Willie Nelson will be leading a Beto O Rourke rally and thousands of fans will feel betrayed

Country music legend Willie Nelson is divided over his upcoming attendance at a rally in Texas for Democratic Senate nominee, Beto O 'Rourke.

The support provided by a Democrat at the Country Music Hall of the Faminger has put him at odds with some of his conservative base in Texas, where he is considered a king.

O'Rourke has been seeking to become the first Democratic senator since 1993 when he seeks to dislodge Ted Cruz.

Nelson featured O'Rourke on stage at his July 4th Picnic Summer Concert. He will perform at the rally this month with Joe Ely, Carrie Rodriguez, Tameca Jones and his two sons, Lukas and Micha Nelson, and Austin 360.

Having Nelson, 85, performing at the Austin Rally on September 29th is a huge blow to O'Rourke in the fierce fight for the siege, shoulder to shoulder.

Nelson is also known for his activism and is a strong advocate for the use of biofuels and the legalization of marijuana.

He says the Democrat "embodies what is special about Texas, a completely authentic energy and integrity."

Some of the singer's fans do not agree, David R Williams writing on Facebook:

"Goodbye Willie. I do not support socialist initiatives! You also will not advertise on my FB page. As they say in Texas, now Git.

Dakota Bell wrote: "Someone buys my ticket from Willie Nelson for Friday, November 16th. I'm no longer willing to watch this hippie guitarist who supports this damned socialist who comes to the Senate. "

Lyle McDonald tweeted, "Willie Nelson is a tool for criminals! It's a vote to save America from those who will hurt it. MAGA. "

She added: "Did not play well with the conservative Texans. We can not leave this man in our Senate. I hope you check it more deeply and change your mind. "

Nelson did not comment on the criticism but he appreciated his support in some circles.

One of them tweeted, "I am a fan of Wille Nelson and I am happy that he supports Beto O. Rourke. This is a good man and Ted Cruz is a fake.

Meanwhile, singer-songwriter Wheeler Walker Jr. tweeted, "I'm not sure what went wrong in your life makes you insult Willie Nelson. You can discuss everything politics you want, but you can not argue Willie.
