WILMINGTON, NC – One day after the video, police have asked for help to identify suspects.
WFMY News 2 had a glimpse of what was happening at 13th and Greenfield Street and captured videos of what appears to be looting on Saturday. On Sunday afternoon, Wilmington PD posted on Facebook to ask the public for help in identifying alleged robbers by using various screenshots of videos posted on social media.
The Wilmington Police Department said Saturday on Twitter that they were "aware of the looting," but "Family Dollar's management has asked not to intervene at the moment." to the fullest extent of the law ".
WPD added that they arrested five suspects accused of trespassing and looting a Dollar General at 5th and Dawson Street.
WFMY News 2 contacted Family Dollar for comments, but no one was immediately available.
The city of Wilmington has posted on Twitter that, in response to the looting in the area, an extended curfew is in place for blocks located between 13th, 14th Greenfield and Martin Streets.

"This curfew came into effect at 5 pm and will remain in force until 6 pm," tweeted the city. "The curfew on the citywide scale will run from 10 pm to 6 pm".
