In a statement posted on the Wimbledon website, tournament organizers said they had reviewed game data for the past 20 years and chose to create ties after talking to players and officials.
This means that all single and double matches of the women's and men's Grand Slam teams, as well as all the matches of the junior tournament, will follow the same new format to designate the winner in the final set.
The US Open was the only Grand Slam in which a decisive game in the final was used to decide on singles matches, although the Australian Open and French Open both created ties for the doubles matches.
