Two of the playoff teams of the 2017 college football games took advantage of week 9 to remind them clearly: we are back for more.

After No. 2, Clemson, completely wiped out the Florida State at the noon session, Georgia, ranked seventh, played a terrible second half to derail hopes of surprise from No. 9 from Florida.

They are there. And probably not go anywhere.

Compared to previous weeks, the last university football team was relatively tame. Some Top 25 programs dropped, but it was either another ranked opponent or a surprise defeat.

Nevertheless, there was still a lot of action to dissect. We have you covered.

During an uninteresting win over Kansas and a defeat against Iowa State, Will Grier made five turnovers. West Virginia remained a threat to the 12 giants, but only if the quarterback began to flourish.

    Until here everything is fine.

While he was leading the Mountaineers to Baylor's destruction by 58-14, the senior accumulated 353 yards and three touchdowns. He also scored on a quarterback.

The month of November brings a difficult calendar for West Virginia, which ends with a trip to Texas and Oklahoma accommodation. But if the high-powered attack exploits all its potential directed by Grier, the Mountaineers certainly have a chance to reach the title of the Big 12.

Bud Foster is one of the most respected defensive coordinators of all college football. Virginia Tech, however, has always struggled to cope with Georgia Tech's three-time attack lately.

In fact, the Yellow Jackets have only tried a pass during the rout 49-28, winning their fourth game of the last five meetings of the series.

Georgia Tech quarterback Tobias Oliver had 215 yards and three touchdowns, while runners Jordan Mason and Jerry Howard combined for 158 yards and four goals. The Jackets cut Virginia Tech for 465 rushing yards.

"They won the scrum and beat us tonight," Foster said after defeat by Evan G. Watkins of 247Sports.

    Complete cancellation.

Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdowns while Clemson built a 45-0 advantage over Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium. The Tigers finally won 59-10 wins, bringing the Seminoles to their worst home defeat in history.

On the other side of the ball, Clemson limited the FSU to only 247 offensive yards. Fourteen different Tigers contributed to a tackle against the defeat, led by Justin Foster's 2.5. They also had five bags.

"Amazing Day," said head coach Dabo Swinney to reporters, via Anna Hickey of 247Sports.

Three consecutive victories of 34 points and more are enough to call the Swinney team as the biggest threat to Alabama in the playoffs.

David Blough beat the Ohio State for 378 yards and three touchdowns during Purdue's 49-20 victory over Ohio State last week. The story was not repeated Saturday at Michigan State.

Instead, the senior quarterback has pioneered a path through the Big Ten clash and finished with three interceptions.

Purdue crossed the 25-meter MSU line with five possessions but scored only 13 points. The team also missed two goals, one of which was even challenged by a false start. Self-inflicted problems affected the Boilermakers, who saw their winning streak of four victories end in East Lansing.

Although the boilers are still alive in the Big Ten West, they will need considerable help elsewhere to really have a chance.

The division is not yet completely blocked, but Georgia has a win to win its second consecutive crown of the SEC-East.

At the world's biggest outdoor cocktail, the Bulldogs overcame a half-headed drows after a 36-17 victory. They scored 23 of those points after the break, getting a pair of quarterback passes from Jake Fromm.

More importantly for the Dawgs, they gave in to Feleipe Franks, Florida, just 100 yards away. Georgia has also seized three takeaways while committing zero.

If Kirby Smart beat Kentucky on the road in Week 10, Georgia will celebrate a decisive victory.

Iowa had a great opportunity to silence the Happy Valley situation, but a series of small mistakes compounded the problem.

In the fourth quarter, the Hawkeyes were late on Penn State 30-24. After surviving a stray snap, the combination of a miscommunication on the goal line and a bad decision by quarterback Nate Stanley resulted in an interception.

The defense was successful, but it was not enough.

At the last settlement, the Iowa blocking unit had a rare and untimely disappointment. The pressure quickly fell on Stanley, who could not gain enough time to cope with a surge of desperation. Instead, he threw an unfortunate side to a line player.

And the Nittany Lions escaped with a six-point triumph.

D'Eriq King is not a household name, but all he does is destroy the defenses.

The quarterback racked up 419 yards and five touchdowns in the air, as well as reaching a record-high record of 132 yards and two more scores. Under his leadership, Houston racked up 681 yards in a 57-36 victory over No. 21 South Florida.

Never before in its history as a Division I program, the USF had yielded so many points. Bulls fans will remember King as the reason for this disappointing record.

In eight games, King had 39 touchdowns. Although he is exceptionally unlikely that he wins the prize, he deserves a place in the Heisman trophy discussions.

While King was reinforcing his resume, a trio of Heisman caliber halves did not offer much production.

Clemson's speedster, Travis Etienne, started the 9th week with OddsShark's eighth best, but he's only 45 yards and has not scored. While he will absolutely enjoy this victory, Etienne has scored three touchdowns each in each of the last three outings.

Jonathan Taylor, who had the highest rating in 10th, advanced 46 yards while Wisconsin's number 20 fell 31-17 over Northwestern. His series of eight 100-yard games was stopped abruptly.

Like Stephen, Benny Snell Jr. certainly prefers Kentucky # 12 to have a spectacular victory in Missouri. Despite everything, he arrived with an average of 128 yards per game and reached only 67.

If in doubt, a quarterback is destined to hoist the Heisman in 2018.

The 9th week could not have been better for Virginia.

Thursday, Virginia Tech abandoned its first contest of the season of ACC because of the defensive nightmare against Georgia Tech. On Friday, the pitiful version of the Miami offensive made another appearance and the Canes lost 27-14 at Boston College.

Virginia was busy on Saturday, sending North Carolina 31-21 before Pitt hit Duke, 54-45, in the afternoon.

As a result, the Cavaliers lead the Coastal to 4-1 in play against ACC. According to ESPN Seth Walderthey have a 44% chance of winning the divisionyes, better than Virginia Tech and Miami.

If they eliminate Pitt next week, this number will only increase.

    Look away, buffalo fans.

Holding a dominant lead of 31-3 over Pac-12, a resident of the Oregon State winery, Colorado, the contest was over. Until there.

Beavers quarterback Jake Luton led four touchdowns in the second half, including a draw in the last minute of the fourth quarter. Colorado has actually blocked the extra point for forcing extra time, but the Buffs have not managed to match the touchdown of the Oregon State.

"I would say it was a very bad defeat," said Colorado coach Mike MacIntyre. Adam Munsterteiger from 247Sports. "One we should have won too, it's extremely difficult."

In his first two appearances of the season, Nick Fitzgerald set his opponents on fire for a total of 663 yards and eight touchdowns.

But when the action of the SEC began, this production was defeated. The third-year starter has not managed to reap more than 200 yards in three of Mississippi State's last four games. In all three games, the offense was seven points or less. This is an optimal way to lose for sure.

However, the best version of Fitzgerald came back on Saturday.

On the road to defeating the Texas A & M 28-13, No. 16, he racked up 241 yards, 88 points and four touchdowns in total.

The season has certainly been rough for the senior, but this magnificent performance has appeased critics and all the noise of a quarterback changeat least for a week.

In 2017, Washington went to the state of Arizona, played a fantastic match in defense and lost because the offensive could not score. The Huskies experienced some déjà-vu at Berkeley on Saturday.

Jake Browning guided a touchdown during the initial possession, but Washington never found the goal zone.

Worst of all for the senior, his brutal day included a first: he was fired. Browning rookie rookie Jake Haener has made a choice of six on his first training. Browning came back, but the two fourth quarter races that reached Cal 40 led to three points.

Washington's outstanding defense only allowed 242 yards and 12 points to Cal. The Dawgs have again lost 12-10.

Washington State suddenly had a decisive advantage over the Pac-12 North, but it took a second-half leap to get it.

Stanford took a 28-14 lead in the first half, and a final second-half goal reduced Wazzu's deficit to 11 points at the break. Although the Pumas scored in the first game of the third quarter, they entered the last quarter behind Cardinal 31-24.

And then Gardner Minshew took over.

The transfer of East Carolina graduates led the deciding game, the green ball and the winning player, scoring two touchdowns and preparing for Blake Mazza's decisive free-kick for a 41-38 victory.

Washington State is now the only team in the North Division to have lost only one conference. In addition, victories on both Stanford and Oregon give the Cougs a decisive advantage in breaking ties.

The division is not decided, but Mike Leach's team has become the undisputed leader.

The Carrier Dome often offers poor combat. It is of course during the basketball season that Syracuse and its zone 2-3 frustrate the opponents.

Who likes defense in football? Not these teams!

The state of North Carolina gave away 561 yards and 51 points to the home team. Syracuse launched for 480 yards, most of the Dino Babers era.

And the Orange needed every explosive day. NC State totals 541 yards and 41 points. Unfortunately for the # 22 Wolfpack, Ryan Finley started an interception by losing three points at the end of the fourth quarter. Syracuse quickly won.

Cuse obtained his eligibility for the bowl for the first time since 2013. Coach Babers steered the program in the right direction.

We have news to report: Texas is no longer back.

It is fair to say that a defeat of the Longhorns – though not necessarily this one – seemed inevitable, given the superficial attention given to Tom Herman's club during the playoff discussions for college football. Most of the analysis still seemed to favor Oklahoma this season anyway.

Oklahoma State stepped in to derail the Longhorns first.

OSU quarterback, Taylor Cornelius, shook his recent mediocre form, tearing off a Texas-grade defense for 321 yards and three touchdowns in the air. He also provided key moments on the pitch, scoring twice and taking his first win in 38-35.

Once back 24-7, Texas made a valiant comeback. It was not enough to stay undefeated in the Big 12 game.
