Winter Weather Forecast
A winter weather advisory is in effect from Monday noon for locations greater than 2,500 feet around the Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, King, Pierce and Lewis Counties Cascades.
IMPACT: Freezing rain is possible over 2,500 feet, where some passages could see a quarter of ice on the roads. Wet snow is possible above 3,000 feet; higher up we could see up to 3 inches, so not a ton. The biggest impact will be the potential of TRES SLICK ROADS on the passes tonight and early tomorrow morning !!
Although most places have very little chance of raining – most models really indicate that the Olympic Peninsula and perhaps Whatcom County, in the west of the country, with a chance to Accumulate rain.
We will see a stronger front sink this evening and tomorrow that will bring back the rain and create wet roads for Monday morning commuters.
FLOOD WATCH:
We have seen a decent rain around the Olympics. That's why the NWS Seattle has launched a real flood warning in Mason County because of heavy rains on the south side of the Olympics. It is currently scheduled for 3 to 7 rain in the Skokomish River Basin between 4 am and Monday and 4 pm on Tuesday. We could witness moderate flooding on the Skokomish River on Monday night.
As for the future, we are going to maintain our rainfall pattern for at least half of the working week, with showers still expected towards the end of the week.
