Wisconsin sophomore Jack Coan was eliminated by quarterback against Northwestern on Saturday while Alex Hornibrook continued to recover from a concussion.
Badgers coach Paul Chryst told the Big Ten network before the game that Hornibrook, a 25-year-old 25-year-old junior fourth-year player in Wisconsin, "will not play," having reported symptoms Monday and be under protocol this week.
Coan has not played this season yet, as the Badgers want to capitalize on the new redshirt rule, which allows players to keep an eligibility season if they participate in four games or less. He played six games as a rookie in 2017 and completed all five attempts.

He also suffered a concussion against Minnesota in 2016 and missed the Big Ten Championship game. He started all games in 2017 and each of the first seven games this fall.
Wisconsin number 20 (5-2, 3-1 Big Ten) started the day tied with Purdue and Iowa for second place in the Big Ten West, a half behind the Wildcats (4-3, 4-1). ).
