The Denver Nuggets are recruiting prominent personalities to add to their front office.

On Friday, the Nuggets announced that Sue Bird, 11-time WNBA star, would join their staff at the reception. Bird will become a partner in basketball operations, according to a press release from the team.

"We are very excited to have Sue join our organization," said Tim Connelly, President of Nuggets Basketball Operations. "His CV certainly speaks for itself and, as an always active player, it will offer an extremely unique perspective."

Bird played all 16 seasons for the Seattle Storm and averaged two digits in each of those campaigns. The veteran leader has just won her third WNBA title, but it was her first since the 2010 season.

Despite this stance with the Nuggets, Bird has not hinted that she plans to retire any time soon. After the WNBA Storm Championship in 2018, Bird said, "I do not even think about retiring." Bird also alluded to the fact that she is still under contract with the team.

Bird was originally Storm's # 1 choice in the 2002 WNBA Draft after a brilliant college career in Connecticut.

"I'm really excited to join the Denver Nuggets organization," Bird said. "I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to learning from the best."

Bird, 38, was named to the WNBA All-Decade team in 2006. She also qualified for the first WNBA team five times, while her 6,154 points are third in history of the WNBA. Bird is also the league's all-time assistant with 2,831 and 5.6 assists per game during her WNBA career.
