Woman at Black Eye Pizza Man alerts to alleged kidnapping

Wisconsin police said a woman who was allegedly beaten by her ex-boyfriend might have to live at an unlikely source: an alert pizza delivery man.

According to numerous reports of a criminal complaint against 55-year-old Dean Hoffmann, Domino's Pizza delivery driver Joey Grundl called 911 on 27 September, immediately after delivering a pizza to Waldo's house. ex-girlfriend of Hoffmann.

Grundl told Fox6Now that he had knocked on the door and Hoffmann had responded. While Hoffmann was paying the pizza to Grundl, the delivery man peeked over the suspect's shoulder and crossed his eyes with the woman who was standing behind him.

This woman – who apparently broke up with Hoffmann in August – silently pronounced the words "Help me" in Grundl, he said.

"It's a bit scary," Grundl told the station. "I gave him his pizza and noticed behind him was his girlfriend. She pointed to a black eye that was clearly visible. She uttered the words "Call the police."

Once Grundl received money for the pizza, he returned to his car and called the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department, the Sheboygan Press reports.

The newspaper reports that MPs responded and heard a woman shout, "Help me," and "Come in, please."

According to WHBL, Hoffmann initially prevented his ex-girlfriend from opening the door to the police before letting the police go inside.

Hoffman has been charged with kidnapping, illegal imprisonment, strangulation and asphyxiation, criminal intimidation of a victim and burglary, according to judicial information in line.

He is detained for an unspecified amount of bail.

Hoffmann has not pleaded charges and has no lawyer who could make submissions on his behalf.

According to Sheboygan PressHoffmann reportedly broke into his ex's house around 1 pm on September 27 and started beating her when she tried to call 911.

Hoffmann reportedly tied the woman with a power cord and tried to convince her to take him back. He would have untied after 30 minutes, but prevented him from leaving his home.

the press reports that the woman told the investigators that she "really believed (he) was going to kill her". She also told the police that Hoffmann had mentioned that he had a gun in his car and that he had stated that he was planning to kill her himself.
