A woman was killed by a palm tree falling in Egmont Key Park on Saturday.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the woman was lying in a hammock in the park around 4 pm when the palm tree fell and hit it. She was identified by The Associated Press as Isabel Melendez, 20 years old.
She was taken to Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, where she was pronounced dead.
Death does not seem to be suspicious. No other information on how the accident occurred has been published.
