Police identified a Texas woman who was seen on video and dropped a 2-year-old boy on the threshold of a door before jumping into a vehicle and moving away quickly.

A woman in a house in Spring, Texas, called 911 around 9:20 pm Wednesday, ET said he found the boy standing at his door. The woman told the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office that someone had rang her doorbell several times and knocked on her door before leaving.

She said that by the time she had reached her door, the person had left, leaving the child behind her.

The video of the residence shows the woman running to the house holding the little boy in the air by the arm. The woman, who seems to be smiling, rings the doorbell several times, knocks on the door and returns to the street.

She also left two bags that she wore on the woman's doorstep before leaving in a white vehicle, officials said.

The sheriff's office stated that the child had not been hurt and appeared healthy. The child protection services responded to the scene and placed the boy in custody.

Lt. Scott Spencer told a news conference on Thursday that the father of the child was found and that he had received a message from the child's mother telling him that A friend would drop the baby boy home on Wednesday afternoon.

When the boy was not laid, the father assumed that the plans had changed and left home for the night. The father stated that the woman in the video was a friend and had dropped off the child at a neighbor's place rather than at home.

Spencer said the mother of the child was in the hospital and released Thursday morning. The authorities identified the woman and said that she could face a charge of abandoning the child.
