MALIBU, California –

Woolsey's fire containment increased to 94% on Monday, while authorities confirmed that 1,500 structures had been destroyed in the 96,949-acre fire.

In addition to these destroyed structures, 341 others were damaged in hell. The fire should be fully under control later this week.

In the meantime, public safety is in the foreground. Teams must shut off power to Malibu from 8 am to 8 pm Monday for repairs Kanan transmission lines in Tuna Canyon, officials said. Disaster Assistance Centers will not be affected by power outages.

To add to the concerns, the rain is expected this week that could trigger landslides. Rainfall is forecast for Wednesday afternoon or evening and may last until early Thursday morning.

Rain could pave the way for mud and landslide hazards, especially along Highway 1 and canyon roads. The counties of Los Angeles and Ventura will have sandbags in the fire halls.

President Donald Trump, accompanied by Governor Jerry Brown and Governor-elect Gavin Newsom, visited Saturday's burned area. Brown expressed optimism that Trump will support California in its fight against forest fires, including the huge camp fire in Butte County.

Trump first blamed state officials for their poor forest management by exacerbating fires and threatening to cut federal funds. He has since signed an emergency declaration.

The official cause of the Woolsey fire is under investigation.
